Revisiting E-cigarettes.

A couple of months ago I wrote a few posts on e-cigarettes. At the time of writing those posts I said that these e-cigarettes were helping me to quit smoking tobacco cigarettes. My son and I were given each a kit of those e-cigarettes and we started using them that same day. After a couple of days, my son could not use them anymore because he was allergic to the Propylene Glycol in them. So he ordered some without the glycol. But without it he could not taste anything and when he told me that, I tried it, and sure enough there was no taste whatsoever.

I kept smoking the e-cigarettes for approximately 8 months without tobacco cigarettes. Even though I had cut down from 24 grams of nicotine to 12 grams per bottle, I still coughed my guts out and the taste for a real cigarette was always on my mind. I have to admit I had been smoking for 63 years previously and that might have had something to do with it.

I went back to smoking regular tobacco cigarettes just to find out that my lungs seemed to have shrunk from the amount of oxygen that they would take in after smoking those e-cigarettes. After a couple of days of regular tobacco cigarettes they seem to be able to allow more oxygen in, as if they had opened up. I kept on coughing just as much as with the e-cigarettes. Then I stopped smoking and evaporating for a couple of days which was hard to do. But then I had no coughing fits. But an addiction is next to impossible to give up that easily. I tried the e-cigarettes and the coughing began just like as if I took a drag from a regular cigarette.

I would say before everyone advertises that e-cigarettes are better for you they had better have more research done on them. Lets face it - nicotine is a poison like a pesticide, and inhaling it in vapor form would affect the lungs just as bad, if not worse? I threw that e-kit in the garbage and went back to regular tobacco cigarettes. To me it seems that the only ones who could quit by evaporating would be the ones that have just started smoking.

Garbage food, garbage smokes

Garbage and more garbage. What I call garbage are GMO foods, tobacco and electronic cigarettes. There is so much garbage that is included in the foods that we ingest. The reasons given are that it makes some foods tastier, it makes foods look more appetizing and it brings in the money. Then the genetically altered foods (GMO) are just frightening - like Frankenstein food. Last but not least there are these Electronic cigarettes. My Son and I were each given a kit as a Christmas gift and he tried them but was allergic to something that is mixed with the nicotine so he stopped using them. I used them for 9 months without using the regular tobacco cigarettes.

True my breathing got better, but the urged to smoke a real cigarette was always on my mind. I told the sales man about it and he said “that’s because you cut down too fast on the strength of the nicotine”. Then he told me that the nicotine they use in those cigarettes is “Clean without those extra chemicals that the big tobacco company add to it”. That could be true, but the fact remains that nicotine is a poison. So to me nicotine with or without those extra chemicals that the big tobacco companies add to them is still poison. The reason I’m saying this is because I would cough just as much, if not more, when vaporizing (it's what they call it) as smoking a cigarette. I went back to smoking regular cigarettes and coughing less than when I tried vaporizing. I say vaporizing and smoking real tobacco cigarettes are just as bad as one to another. The only thing that is good with vaporizing is that it’s not smoke that comes out and pollutes a place, but vapor which evaporates within a couple of seconds otherwise vaporizing and smoking are both garbage.

That is my rant of the day in what we get in the foods that we ingest and the poison that we inhale in our lungs. Today money talks and not our health.

Revising my opinion on e-cigarettes (part 2)

I was given an e-cigarette kit last Christmas. I've been using it. I started off with 24 mg. of nicotine and after three months I cut that down to zero. I didn’t smoke a cigarette for 9 months but the urge to smoke never completely went away. When I stared recently to cough just as bad as when I was smoking, my lungs felt like they had shrunk in the amount of oxygen that they would take in. Finally one day I decided to have a cigarette and it seemed that my lungs after a couple of cigarettes, would take in more oxygen.

To be honest those cigarettes made me feel sick - just the taste of it was enough to put the pack away and head back to the e-cigarettes. At least with the e-cigarettes I didn’t get that sickening feeling. But I still cough my guts out whenever I inhale the vapor. Besides, when vaporizing, doesn’t that vapor with the type of oil that is used plus the Propylene Glycol have some kind of effect on the lungs? I don't know. I know that the Glycol is also used in some foods but inhaling it might have a different effect on the lungs. I also know that some people are allergic to Propylene Glycol and have had to use the e-cigarettes without this Glycol.

So where does this leave me? I used to tell every smoker to try it. I still think they have a lot of advantages over cigarettes and may be the key to stopping. But they are not perfect. They have their own issues. But they are a step in the right direction. If I can take that step at my age, what is your excuse if you don't try.

End of rant. Have a good day.

Revising my opinion on e-cigarettes

Who says old people are set in their ways? E-cigarettes. There is absolutely something wrong here. With these e-cigarettes they claim that the nicotine that is used is clean. By that they mean that it is without any foreign chemicals added to it. The fact remains that the nicotine itself is a pesticide; it kills any insect that would try to eat the tobacco plant.

Now what I’m wondering is if it’s a pesticide, a poison, how can it be safe for human consumption? Even if its heated to a boiling point to turn it into a vapor and then inhaled? Is anyone going to tell me that it’s heated at enough of a high heat and boiled long enough to kill the poison that is in it? First of all if you think that you can heat it long enough to get the poison out, the battery will not let you do it, because after a few seconds the battery shuts off.

Smoking the tobacco itself is just as bad because the nicotine is in there automatically that is the tobacco plant's defense against some of the bugs. So I would say either ways there is no such thing as clean nicotine. Nicotine is poison.

Some governments decriminalize smoking pot - why? Every pot-head that I know smokes it mixed with tobacco. Tobacco has nicotine. Nicotine is poison. I guess the only good e-cigarettes are the ones with zero nicotine.

Committing suicide (Part II)

Continued from here.

Now I’m not smoking any more. But I know all the smoking from the past has caught up to me. Now I have what they call Melanoma, which is sort of a skin cancer. The first piece of evidence is on my hand and the second is between my shoulder and neck. Also, now I have a lump starting on my throat.

I will say if you are a smoker you`d better quit before it gets to the point that you start getting sick because of it. That garbage sneaks up on you and before you realize it your heart starts getting weak and you drown in your own fluids.  Your lungs being full of fluids as your heart loses power and then your kidneys shutting down is a terrible thing. That is why I called this committing suicide and no one that smokes gets away from what this smoking does to your health.

No one.  You are not a special case. And 10, 20 or 60 years from now, when it catches up to you, you will regret it, deeply.

Committing suicide. (Part I)

That`s just dumb.
If you are a smoker, you are automatically committing suicide. I am positive in saying this because of my own experience. I started smoking at age thirteen. As I got more used to it, my smoking increased to two and sometimes three packs a day. Well, this lasted for 66 years. Then on May the 11th 2011, I took a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. At the hospital while waiting for a doctor, I passed out out of a shortness of oxygen. I could not breath anymore because my heart was not strong enough to push the liquid out of my lungs. So I drowned in my own fluids. Then my kidneys had also shut down. When the doctor arrived to check me he told my family that I would not last until the morning after having giving me a good examination. Finally, they called a priest and I was given the last Rites of the Church. My soul did leave my body and went in the afterlife. That’s how I know there is life after death. After a while I came back to life and the doctor could not figure out why I did.

When I went in the hospital I was 216 pounds. After just 10 days I was down to 168. When I came out I had to get my eyes operated on and yet I kept on smoking for a couple more years. In December of last year, a friend of my son gave my son and I, each a kit of e-cigarettes. I stared using it the same day. I have not smoked a cigarette since then. My intake of oxygen became easier. I could feel my lungs expand whenever I would take a deep breath and a lot of garbage would come up from my lungs.

Finally after not smoking for 8 months, I was getting short of breath again. I don’t know why because there is no garbage in the e-cigarette liquid, almost no nicotine. And the nicotine that is in there is clean with no extra chemicals added to it. For the last 4 months I have not been getting any nicotine whatsoever because I switched to the non-nicotine strength.

Maybe it`s a delayed effect from when I did smoke. Smoking is suicide. It WILL kill you. Just because it doesn`t do it in one day doesn`t mean it isn`t working on it and won`t get you eventually. And because you know that it will, you are killing yourself by doing it. That`s suicide.

More to come in my next post.

Are you STILL smoking?

Still smoking? Yes, I'm still talking about this subject. No, I'm not being paid to say these things. It's not so hard to quit, believe it or not. If you are still smoking I would strongly suggest that you check out this article

I quit smoking using e-cigarettes because I actually died briefly. On the last day of May 2011 at the hospital, after receiving the last rites of the church, I died. I came back alive and the doctors don’t know why I came back because my body had shut down. Heart, kidneys, there were multiple failures. It was due the doctors said, mostly to smoking.

So last Christmas a friend of my son's gave each of us an e-cigarette kit to stop smoking. This kit was given to us as a Christmas gift. Since then I’ve been using it and never had another tobacco cigarette again. Although I tried a couple of times to smoke a real cigarette after a drag or 2 it went were it belonged -- in the garbage.

After 66 years I never thought that I would have been able to quit smoking. Well after 6 months with these e-cigarettes, I can honestly say that I haven’t had a tobacco cigarette and my health is coming back. If you are considering quitting, consider these products.

Now I just have to worry about the food that we buy in good faith -- some of it has garbage added to it which is not good for our heath. I have written on previous blog posts about what is done to our food as well as smoking. Also, on the food side, I would suggest that you also check out this too. In this video you will find the foods that are dangerous to your health.

Scientists speak on e-cigarettes

There have been a lot of complaints about e-cigarettes lately. Some complain about the vapor burning their eyes, another one said he had to quit because his taste buds were turning black and another one claimed his tongue was swelling up. Of course you will hear complaints because a heavy smoker would be scared of the government making it illegal to smoke tobacco. And the cigarette companies want you to keep smoking regular cigarettes.  And there are busybodies trying to make e-cigarettes illegal.  And governors trying to tax e-cigarettes.

What I can to all of this is "bull". The only thing that can affect the user of e-cigarettes is the propylene glycol. This glycol is responsible for the sensation in the back of the throat that regular cigarettes do when inhaling. Some people are allergic to this but with e-cigarettes you can order some without this glycol. Glycol is approved by the FDA for foods so it can’t be dangerous.

If you try e-cigarettes and you feel nausea or get headaches it’s the glycol that is doing it. Now here is a site that is surprising about e-cigarettes and who speaks up for the e-cigarette.
Fifty-three scientists have written to the UN's World Health Organization Director General Margaret Chan cautioning her not to classify e-cigarettes as tobacco products, which would then lead to stricter regulatory controls on the nascent industry.

The scientists say that e-cigarettes are "part of the solution" to worldwide tobacco addiction.

"These products could be among the most significant health innovations of the 21st century — perhaps saving hundreds of millions of lives. The urge to control and suppress them as tobacco products should be resisted," they said.
Now if you have any complaints your imagination is just working overtime. Like I have mentioned before, after 66 years of smoking I quit those dirty sickening tobacco cigarettes using e-cigarettes, and I did not get hooked on the e-cigarettes.  I can leave them whenever I want and sometimes I go a week without touching them. When I do it’s because I have nothing else to do.

That is my rant of the day

Stupid Statements by Stupid People

Smoking, that is.
Some stupid statements by stupid people need to be called out. In this case, I`m going on again about e-cigarettes. Let me remind you that the vapor of these cigarettes is water vapor. Now some are claiming that e-cigarettes give the sensation of burning in the eyes, they cause trouble swallowing, they cause taste buds to turn black, and cause tongue swelling, among other problems to users of e-cigarettes. What I’m going to describe next is what I have tried on myself that proves these are stupid statements by stupid people.

First, I got my son (who also uses e-cigarettes) to blow vapor at my eyes from 6 inches away. The vapor went into my eyes and I felt no burning. Then we tried again from about 2 feet away. At that distance the vapor had evaporated before it even got to me. Yet from what I read on Fox News the other day, this woman said that smoke came from an e-cigarette at the next table to theirs at a restaurant. I think her imagination was working overtime because it’s not smoke but vapor and having this vapor coming all the way to her table, well that’s just bull.

Some people are never happy (part 2 of 2)

This rant is a brief continuation of yesterday's rant about people who are never happy unless they are complaining about something. I concluded with an example about people complaining about the use of e-cigarettes.

With e-cigarettes you can quit just like I did. It was relatively easy for me. Most doctors that know of e-cigarettes, will say that e-cigarettes are a lot better than tobacco cigarettes. They do far less harm to the human body than regular cigarettes - if any. It's not smoke that it creates when a person inhales or exhales from an e-cigarette. It's water vapor. It doesn’t burn your eyes as has been reported and there is no smell to it except in the case of the flavored ones which would emit the smell of the fruit you are vaporizing.

Some people are never happy (part 1 of 2)

Some people are never happy unless they are complaining about something. Before you get all indignant, I do understand the irony of ranting about people ranting about stuff on a blog full of my own ranting. While I do focus on things I have an issue with here, I am not only happy if I am complaining about something. I actually do have a pleasant side. The stuff I complain about is stuff that I believe needs fixing. And I frequently usually post suggestions on how to fix those things as well.

With that out of the way, on to my observation. Some people do indeed appear to never be happy unless they are complaining about something. Is this maybe their way to vent their frustration on everything that is happening in this world?

Are Electronic cigarettes dangerous?

I guess the people asking that question don’t read too many reports about what is added or taken out of the food that we buy in good faith. Otherwise they'd be more worried about our food.  I've been keeping up with the e-cigarettes issue and if you have then you would not be asking a question about their safety. I will say that electric cigarettes are 100% safer than some of the food that we buy in good faith

Of course electronic cigarettes are safe except for e-diots (e-cigarette idiots) who would buy refills of nicotine in those little bottles and don’t have enough sense to take safety precautions.  All you need to do is make sure to handle it safely and not leave it within reach of children and/or pets. The level of nicotine will kill a child or pet (or even an adult) if it’s ingested orally.  Even if you spill some on your skin it could be poison.  The solution is to be safe about how you use and store it.  The answer is not to ban it.

There are some people that do not like cigarette smoke, so if they see someone smoking one of these e-cigarettes then the first thing you know, they will start whining and saying that the smoke stinks and makes them sick. It’s safe to say that their imaginations are running wild, because it’s not smoke that comes out of an e-cigarette but water vapor. But to be honest, if you are vapourizing Canadian tobacco, there is a smell of tobacco.  But it doesn't stay around too long - it dissipates within a few seconds. Yet some of the other flavors like watermelon, orange or pomegranate or any other flavour it’s only the smell of whatever flavor the  "smoker" chooses because there is no nicotine in it.  The smell dissipates in a couple seconds because it’s not smoke but vapour.

If a person were to be brought to court because he/she was using this in a "no smoking" area, they should have the case thron out of court unless it was also stated that e- cigarettes are not allowed in that area. The charge of smoking would not be legal as you were not smoking you were vapourizing. There is a big difference. Smoking involves tobacco which causes smoke but vapor is not smoke, it is evaporating water. So the charge against you would say smoking but the charge would be dropped because you were not smoking. Even if your using that cigarette where it states you can’t use electronic cigarettes, just the fact that they marked smoking would be a false charge. They would have to charge you with vapourizing and there are no criminal charges for causing vapour.  If there were anyone charges for that, then boiling water while cooking could be breaking the law.

Procrastinators, just plain lazy or just don’t care?

A couple of days ago I read about the dangers of mishandling pure nicotine. I would suggest that before buying anything that includes something like pure nicotine you can buy in a bottle, you go to Google and read up on it first. On Google there is all kinds of information on that subject.

First of all, nicotine comes from the tobacco plant, and it is a sort of pesticide. It’s the only protection that this plant has to protect itself against the bugs that would try to eat it. According to information available on Google, farmers uses nicotine to spread on their fields. In other words if this nicotine was prescribed by a doctor, on the label it would state, keep away from children. It would have to be treated just like the medical prescription that you get from a drugstore.

I read on Facebook that a pet dog licked up nicotine from a bottle that was on the floor and sadly, the pet died. This nicotine is dangerous if not handled properly. It is used in e-cigarettes but mixed with something else and comes in different strength staring from 24 mg. down to zero.  The problem is not e-cigarettes.  So those in the United States and Canada who are arguing for the banning and/or regulation of e-cigarettes are procrastinators for not investigating the truth behind their ill-informed opinions or they are just too lazy to investigate properly, or maybe they just don't care about whether their opinions are based on facts.

Of course children shouldn't be exposed to a nicotine product cigarettes, or e-cigarettes.  But to go overboard and ban the product is the result of a weakly understood product that deserves a second look before the panic starts.

That is my rant for the day.

Open letter to Governor Chris Christie.

Governor Christie,

I thought that you were a smart man and straight-shooting person. But after what I have read in the news about you lately, regarding a tax on e-cigarettes I have changed my mind. Anyone that would put a tax on something that would be a benefit to the health of people just to get a few million dollars in additional taxes is being inconsiderate of people's health.

I would say, a smart person would sit back and think of how a tax could be put on something that would bring in the few millions that would be needed to replace the loss of taxes on tobacco sales.

Well Sir, I would not consider myself to be smarter than the ordinary Joe, but I am smart enough to figure out a way to put a tax on something that would benefit people's health, and at the same time, reduce the amount of criminality in a state. All you need to do is find a certain product that affects health negatively and also affects some people's thinking and causes some of them to act out of character. For example, alcohol. This product is the cause of a lot of people being in jail for crimes that they would otherwise not have committed without using it.

Here are a few examples of what alcohol can cause people to do. Domestic violence (a wife being beaten by a drunken husband), rape (either those consuming it acting more aggressively and violently or else being intoxicated to the point of not being sober enough to give proper consent themselves), kids going hungry because the person responsible for their well being cannot control their consumption of alcohol (and spending), armed robberies, drunk driving and whatever else you can think of what abusing of alcohol does. In fact alcohol is worse for health and the conduct of some people than even smoking regular cigarette tobacco. So why not add a tax to that to try to discourage consumption rather than taxing something that may help people from developing cancerÉ

Oh yes, it just dawned on me. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to put a tax on something that would result in not giving you enough votes in the next election now would you? Or is it a case of "to hell with peoples health and actions, I just want to balance the state budget and get re-elected?"

Regards,

Bob in Canada

Chris Christie and my health (part 3)

[Continued from Part 2]

In the 3 months since I have started smoking e-cigarettes, my heart has gained strength, my lungs seem to have gotten better, my kidneys also have gone back to normal operation. That’s why I say this world is hell - because of people like Chris Christie that would prefer tax money to people's health. I would suggest that governor Christie educate himself on something that he doesn’t know about instead of putting money ahead of people.

If governor Christie really needs to tax something there are better options.  Something that really could use taxation is alcohol (for instance),  as it drives people to do things which they would not do while sober. That would be taxing something harmful to people and that might actually reduce in some small way consumption of something potentially dangerous. Alcohol can lead to consequences like rape, domestic assault , children going to bed hungry because the father or mother (or both) turn out to be alcoholics. I should also mention illegal drugs. Tax those people that can’t seem to control themselves once full of drugs or alcohol. Or would you feel that if you tax those two things that I mentioned would lower your chances of getting re-elected, governor?

And with that, I am done with this three part rant.

Chris Christie and my health (part 2)

[Continued from Part 1.]

A week after my hearty attack, I felt like I was having a heart attack once again. So back to the hospital I went.  Wile I was waiting for a doctor, I ran out of breath.  I was drowning in the fluids and my heart was too weak to build up the pressure to get the liquids out of my lungs. As a results of this I was declared dead after the priest read me the last Rites of the Church. I did die for a brief period of time but then came back.  The doctor still can’t figure out why I had died but was able to come back. My organs had begun to fail, and you don't normally come back from that.

Now I kept smoking for quite a while after that.  I knew I had to stop smoking but I soon found out that I did not have the will power to do it.  But recently, a friend of my son and I were each given each an e-cigarette kit. This was three months ago.  I decided to try the e-cigarette.  Since then I tried a regular cigarette twice and each time I had just a couple of drags on it.  Both times were in the first couple of weeks.  Both of those brief cigarettes went where all tobacco cigarettes should be -- in the garbage. Because that’s all they are: garbage.

Now it’s been about 3 months and I don’t have the urge for a tobacco cigarette at all. I don’t wake up choking. I don’t take a coughing fit when I take a deep breath. The taste of the food that I eat has improved. I haven’t had another heart attack.  I also sleep better. Just In case you’re not aware of it, e-cigarettes don’t put out smoke but vapor as the liquid is heated by a battery and all you get is vapor when you take a drag on it.  There is no smell of anything like there is in the garbage that is put out by the big cigarette companies, that Chris Christie seems to be protecting by taxing something that doesn’t cause the damage to a persons health.

To be continued.

Chris Christie and my health (part 1)

NOTE: This post is being broken into multiple parts as I will not be able to finish all of it in one writing.

While reading the news tonight I happen to notice this article. New Jersey Gov. Christie included in his 2015 budget proposal, a tax on e-cigarettes that would make them just as expensive as traditional combustible cigarettes. The tax hike would raise an estimated $35 million for the state. Minnesota is the only state so far that has passed an e-cigarette tax.

All I can say to this kind of foolishness is that Gov. Christie is the type of person that thinks that money is worth more than a person's life. For a man to think this way he has to be a greedy person or else he doesn’t know what he is talking about. E-cigarettes have a health benefit and that matters more than 35 million dollars.  For 66 years I smoked and I thought was in good health. Then one night just sitting at my computer I had a heart attack.

My son called for an ambulance and I was taken to the ER at the Gatineau hospital. Once at the hospital they took x rays and found out that the vein leading to my heart was blocked by a blood clot. Then I was sent home after the cardiologist took the blood colt out and put in a stent. Then I was given a prescription for pills, to lighten my blood.   All of this was important but I was still smoking.

What I needed to for the sake of my own life, was to quit smoking.  After 66 years, that's not an easy thing to do.  This is why my personal experience is a good anecdotal explanation of why Governor Christie's decisions don't make sense.

To be continued....

Dirty chemicals

I'm sure I wrote about some of the chemicals that were in cigarette tobacco and how many different things were added to the tobacco. Just in case I didn’t though, here are a few that could kill you.

I lost my source for this quote but it is worth repeating:  “While we cannot say for certain if electronic cigarettes are harmful or not, we can say that they are worlds better than traditional cigarettes. Benzene, formaldehyde, ammonia, acetone, tar, carbon monoxide, arsenic, hydrogen cyanide”.

I find this kind of discouraging,  This kind of stuff is added just to make cigarettes more addictive and that proves that these big companies don’t care how it affects people's lives, just as long as they can make money by selling this garbage.

I’ve been on e-cigarettes for approximately 2 months now, and the urge to have rolled up garbage that we buy in the stores has left me completely. Since then everything that had gone wrong with me is now recovering from having smoked that garbage.

All that garbage that was in my lungs has been brought up, my kidneys seem to have gotten better.  I am experiencing  no more choking while sleeping, no more coughing while taking a deep breath, and the color has come back to my face and I don’t look like a dough boy any more.

I smoked for 66 years and the only way I was able to quit was with these e-cigarettes. It is clean nicotine, and different strength that you can reduce your taste for smoking by buying lower strength of nicotine.

I never had the will power to quit but with these e-cigarettes I managed to do it. Great stuff.

Have a good day.

Condemning without knowing.

Some people make me sick in their way of making statements, without knowing the true facts of what they are talking about. I would also state that some people can’t tell the difference between smoke and vapor. This is for the ones that can’t tell the difference between smoke and vapor. Well here it is. Smoke is heavy and lingers and vapor after a couple of seconds disappears.

I would like you especially the non-believers of the e-cigarettes, to watch this video above. Then you might see the benefits to a person leaving the tobacco product to start smoking these e-cigarettes.

According to reports the big tobacco companies add 4000 to 5000 chemicals to tobacco cigarettes that are dangerous to your health. But the nicotine that you get in e-cigarettes does not contain those chemicals -- it’s clean. When a person smokes tobacco cigarettes you can really smell the residue of all those chemicals, plus its smoke that come out and not vapor like the e-cigarettes. Yes, if a person smokes say Canadian tobacco (an e-cigarette falvour), you will smell a slight smell of nicotine but it doesn’t linger on as a couples seconds later it’s gone.

Another benefit to smoking those is that you can reduce the strength of nicotine and finally reduce it to nothing except vapor, in which case you have been smoking those for so long that your body finally rids itself of the nicotine and your yearning for smoking as finally left you and better health is on the way. You can order different flavors to be added and if you happen to smell the vapor of these whether it is watermelon, banana or whatever else, you will be able to tell of what fruit the person is evaporating.

The reason it’s called evaporating, is because of the mix. It’s heated by a battery and when a person takes a drag the only thing that comes out is vapor and not smoke. When a person starts smoking those cigarettes and inhales the person gets the same sensation at the back of the throat as if he/she was inhaling the smoke of tobacco.  That is another reason beside the nicotine being a drug that smokers have a lot of trouble quitting the smoking of tobacco.

These days, there are different companies that have products on the market to stop smoking. That is if you don’t have heart problems and most of them are labeled if you have heart problems, consult your doctor before using. I wrote a post not too long ago about e-cigarettes. Read it and you will see why I started to smoke these e-cigarette.  The results I’m getting from them are terrific.  I was a heavy smoker.  I was and also declared dead in the hospital before which was a result of a severe health issue I had that resulted from smoking tobacco cigarettes. You will also read the problems of smoking the tobacco cigarettes I got into.

Now after almost 2 months I haven’t touched nor have a yearning to smoke those tobacco cigarettes and my lungs are getting better.  My kidneys are improving and so is my heart. No more choking in the middle of the night, I don’t choke when I take a deep breath and the coughing fits I used to experience have disappeared.

I would appreciate it and you would be doing yourself a favor if you would check my other rant -- there is also a diagram that show you how the e- cigarettes work.

That is my rant of the day

Have a good day.

Bloomberg banned e-cigarettes? That's dumb.

Former Mayor Bloomberg of NYC signed into law 22 bills including one banning e-cigarettes where smoking is prohibited. This man doesn’t know a lot of things, including the difference between smoking tobacco and vaporizing. There is no smoke from these cigarettes as its only vapor that comes out and not smoke like smoking tobacco. Any one that sees another smoking these e-cigarettes cannot mistake them for real cigarettes.

The nicotine in these cigarettes are nicotine that is mixed with some kind of oil and there are different strength s that can be useful for weaning yourself off of nicotine altogether, according to how heavily a person was smoking cigarettes before starting to quit smoking by using the e-cigarettes. I was a heavy smoker for 65 years (no kidding). I didn’t have the willpower to quit. With  these cigarettes I started with the nicotine of the strength of 18mg. mix of nicotine and clean nicotine not like the 4000 or 5000 chemicals that are added by the tobacco companies that are very dangerous to one’s health.

Having smoked these cigarettes for a period of two weeks I tried a regular cigarette and after 2 to 3 drags I threw it where it belongs - in the garbage. Once in a while I get the urge to smoke a regular cigarette but when I think of the taste of all the garbage that is added in the cigarettes it changes my mind.

Like I mentioned there is no smoke that comes out.  It is just vapor because the contents of an e-cigarette are heated by a battery and the only thing that comes out is vapor. I am proud to say that only after 3 weeks,  I don’t crave cigarettes anymore. I know in another two weeks I will be ready to use a mix of less nicotine and then after about another month with weaker nicotine still I will have quit that bad habit which was partly to blame for a heart attack brought on by blood cloth too big to pass through my heart. The cardiologist had to put in a stent in my vein leading to the heart. Also because of the plaque build up in my veins the heart lost enough  pressure that my lungs had built up with fluid and it acted as if I was getting a heart attack. An ambulance was called and took me to the hospital and about an hour later and I could not breathe anymore. I was drowning because of the fluid built up in my lungs and I was declared dead by the doctor and after a few minutes I came back.  The point is, smoking was a huge factor in all of this and e-cigarettes are helping me quit, quite successfully so far.

They say if you quit smoking you can add another 10 years to your life. Now I have my chance to see if this is not just a myth. I’m 78 now and if I’m still here at 88 years old then I’ll still be writing my rants. Smoking has cost me a lot of problems health wise.  I would say this an enjoyable way to stop smoking  because you are feeding your body with nicotine that you craved but with 'good' nicotine that is not mixed with all the garbage of chemicals that are added by the tobacco companies.  By diminishing the strength of nicotine a bit at a time a person finally succeeds in quitting this dirty habit.

If you want to quit smoking but don’t have the will power try the e-cigarette and you don’t need will power.

Mayor Bloomberg, in a last minute Big Brother, "I know what is best for you"moment, typical of his run as mayor, banned something that has the potential to help a lot of people quit.  One of the benefits of the e-cigarettes is that they mean you can "smoke" without the second hand smoke problem, at least not to the same extent.  But Bloomberg thinks he knows people's health matters better than everyone.  That's dumb.

That's my rant for today
