Dictators in the Classroom

I wrote a post before asking if the USA is turning into a communist country. Well I got my answer last night while reading Fox News. While reading a particular article, I had to stop and reflect on how some schools officials in the USA have become dictators.
Third grade teachers at Sunset Elementary School in Brentwood, Tenn. sent home an “Approved Snack List” for the school year and it specifically banned anything that comes from a pig.

“No meats containing pork,” read the memorandum. “Starting Monday, August 12, 2013 your child must provide their own snack from the above approved snack list.”

Kids could nosh on raw vegetables without dips or sauces, fresh fruit, crackers, pretzels, and popcorn – but no ribs or pork rinds.

“Only choose a food from the following list to bring into school for snack,” the memorandum stated in bold-face type. “No other food items are permitted.”
The question I have is this: are they becoming dictators of their own volition or are they being dictated to by the government? Whatever the case might be, kids are sent to school to learn how to read and write how to use their mind and also how to socialize with others.

These kids have parents that depend on the schools to educate their kids and not to teach them how to become dieticians or dictators or to learn the politically correct way to do everything.  Schools are overstepping their boundaries by telling students what to think about various issues, to the point of including what to eat.  From what I read in the article it sure seems like teachers or schools don't think that way.  Those kids do have parents and those parents don’t need the schools to tell them what to feed their kids, how to dress their kids, or how to raise them.  I have written a couple posts on how some kids have been treated in some schools including colleges and universities.

The way I see it, parents should provide a warning to their kids nearing school age.  Can you imagine the conversation?
"Soon, even though you haven’t done anything yet to deserve this, I will have to register you to report to a reform school."

"Mom,what is a reform school?"

A school where their main principal teachings are on subjects such as how to dress, what to eat and what to wear and most of all don’t talk about any religion because we wouldn’t want to offend anyone would we?"
In some schools these days it seems that teachers have also become judge and jury and they can send you home or suspend you for looking at your teacher the wrong way and if giving your teacher a hard time the police could be called in.

It looks like the officials of the schools these days have forgotten what the children go to school for and what they are supposed to teach the children. What the children wear are what the parents can afford or decide upon and no more. If the officials are not happy then they can supply uniforms all identically the same style and same colors - except for colleges and universities. The reasons for this are if each individual schools have different colors and style it could entice in the making of different gangs. We all know what kind of gang it could turn out to be.

Those are my opinions. So there.
