Ignorant people

Yes, I wrote ignorant people and once you have read this you will know what I mean.

In Quebec we have Videotron for  telephone and cable service. In September 2009, my dog got really sick so I called the people that took care of the telephone services hired by Videotron. The lady working as the operator came on and I asked her the telephone number for the Hull veterinarian hospital and she asked "What’s the name of the  hospital?”"

I answered "animal hospital".

Then she said "I need a name"

And I said "lady it’s a hospital for animals and there is only one of them here."

I hung up because she still insisted on a name. I could not convince her that it was called the animal hospital.

The result of that frustrating conversation, perhaps not directly but certainly it was a contributing factor, was that my dog died.  I did not have transportation to bring her down to the animal hosptial, but they would have sent someone over like they had done for my neighbor's dog. They might have been able to save her or put her out of her misery because she was really suffering.

It still bothers me.

At the time I even called the police  and explained what was happening then I asked them to see if they could come and shoot her because she was suffering and they said no that they could not do that. .

The following Monday I called Videotron and explained what had happened and the answer they gave me was that they had had enough complaints about that company so they'd have to get someone else. I don’t think they did because today Tuesday I called wanting to know the telephone number for the Hull hospital here in Hull and the woman that answered wanted the name of the place I was asking for.  I think they still kept the same people but I finally did get a number after yelling at them.

Now these people might of been trained but I think they fell asleep while training and were not tested on what they were supposed to have been trained and if they would of been tested some of them would have been on welfare.

That’s my rant of the day.

Obama's secret agenda

I found this on Fox News and it troubled me:
President Obama assured Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Monday that he'd have "more flexibility" after the November election, during a conversation that appeared to focus on the touchy issue of missile defense.

Obama, during a sit-down with Medvedev in Seoul, urged Moscow to give him "space" until after November. The conversation was relayed by a TV pool producer who listened to the recording from a Russian journalist.
"This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility," Obama told Medvedev.
To me this tells me quite plainly that Obama has an agenda that might not be too good. In other words, he says that he can't do what he wants to do now, but after the election he will do what he wants.  This could be dangerous type of thinking.  To me it sounds like these words would be voiced by a dictator. I could be wrong but its my way of looking at this type of statement.

Whiner motorists

Here is a yet another, different kind of whiner. Not all of the people I'm going to talk about are whiners, but a big majority are. These whiners whine about bicycle riders. They complain that they are too slow and slow down the traffic. Yes I will admit some bikers are very inconsiderate. They think that one meter means half of the lane and for some they can’t imagine what one meter is. I would say some motorist are just as bad, because for some of them, bicycle lanes don’t mean a thing, even though some of them are indicated by a white line. But that's just like some bikers who seem to be blinded by that little line or maybe they think it's just for decoration.

Biking is good exercise, especially for people that work in Ottawa. Most people that work in Ottawa have government jobs, so they sit on their butts all day and once finished for the day they go home then after dinner they become couch potatoes. They should be trying to ride bikes.

Hypocrites

Hypocrites. That's what I call people that say there is no God or "I don’t believe that there is such a thing as God". Here are a few examples of what I’m talking about and I heard this on quite a few instances.

A mother had two kids playing outside when all of a sudden she hears one kid screaming as if they were in pain. So she quit what she was doing and at the same time saying "oh God now what?" Or "please God help me". Or she gets a phone call with some bad news and when she hangs up she says "what did I ever do to God to deserve this??

Capital punishment

As usual I was listening to my favorite CFRA radio talk show. Lowell Green as the host and the people that called in could chose the subject that they wanted to comment on. There were some who called in that said that capital punishment should be brought back.

I would agree to capital punishment, in a case where the murderer would be caught in the act of killing (like it was in the case in the Ottawa Civic hospital), or a person admitting to it (like Russell Williams) and only after he/she was declared fit mentally to stand trial after being examined for the state of his/her mentality. Then, put a rope in his/her cell. This way the relatives might get closure faster then they thought they would if he/she decided to use it.

Parking -by-law officer

Ottawa parking.
On March the 9th at approx. 1:30 pm I had to go to Rogers wireless and tv store on the corner of Gilmore and bank street in Ottawa to return some equipment.

My friend parked around the corner of the store east on Gilmore.  There are parking meters there, but since there were no other cars around and I was only going in to return some equipment, we figured I wouldn’t be that long. I was in there for about five minutes and when I came out there was a parking by-law officer with my friend and my friend had to put in 3 dollars in the meter even though he explained to the officer why he was waiting.

Apparently he was told to insert $3.00 in the meter or he would have a $60.00 parking ticket.  My friend put the $3.00 in. He was just walking away when I came out.  It cost him $3.00 for about 5 minutes of parking. My friend was mad. I asked God to forgive my friend for not recognizing a robot when he sees one.

Here in Gatineau if we are not on the Internet and we have to pay our bill we have to run to Ottawa to pay our bill because Rogers is too cheap to open a place here in Gatineau sector of Hull.

I don’t know why they don’t because they have plenty of clients here and the balance of Gatineau

That’s my rant for today.

Have a good day.

Province of Ontario

For those who read my rants, I must give the impression that I hate the province of Ontario. Actually, I like Ontario and its people but its provincial government I don’t like.

The way I see it, that government is always looking at different ways to pick the pockets of its citizens, while making sure that the citizens don’t get any thing back for what they pay in increases.

My back is back

A while ago I mentioned that I was having some back problems and it would slow my posting on my blog.  It did, but it didn't slow my brain.  I'll be posting again regularly starting today.  My back is not fully recovered but it is feeling better enough now that I can sit at my computer again and and not have it bother me.  Not surprisingly, there are still as many things to rant about as before I took a break.

So I'm back and as ranty as ever.

Iran

According to the reports, Iran has said that they will let the UN Inspectors into their secret nuclear site. My question would be, are they to be trusted? Because of all the suspicion they've brought on themselves, for refusing to let the UN Inspectors in the last time they went there, they don't deserve a lot of our trust. It's more likely they were they just looking for more time to hide what they were doing, if they had started in doing what they weren’t suppose to do.

Could it be that they finally figured out that they had made too many threats and that they are feeling the tension building up against them? Do they now realize that they had pushed their luck too far and now it was time to back down before action is taken against them?

If Ahmedinejad just wants to generate electricity, what was the other stuff about radioactive isotopes (source missing)? If it is used for cancer treatment as he's suggested, why would they have to have it in a secret place and not let the inspectors in?

With all the threats that he has made and all the tension, that he has brought against his nation, all of a sudden he changes his mind. This sounds a little suspicious to me.

That’s my beef for today.

Out of Commission

It may be a while before I can post again. Not years or months, but perhaps a couple of weeks.  I've hurt my back and it hurts to sit at the computer for more than 5 or 10 minutes or even to move around too much. It bothers me from time to time, and it sure isn't fun when it happens.

But it does go away after a while.  I'm not going away though.

I will post again as soon as I can, but I'm not sure how soon it will be.  But I'll be back when I have a better back.

Yet more stupid by-laws

By-laws are sometimes beyond stupid.

I thought the City of Ottawa, the Capital of Canada, had some stupid by-laws. From what I read this morning on Fox News,  in Louisiana the parishioners were ordered to stop giving water and coffee away because they did not have the proper permits. One permit for failing to secure an occupational license and the other for failing to register for a sales tax.

I can’t speak about the occupational license, but failing to register for a sales tax? This is kind of stupid, because they were not selling anything but giving it away.

That’s my short rant of the day but I would like to leave you with some good advice. If you decide to go to Louisiana, don’t you dare giving anything away because you might be breaking some stupid law. You be the judge.

Have a good day.

What is this World coming to?

What is this world coming to when some nations will let a nation murder its own citizens by the thousands? This is exactly what is happening in Syria and it seems like the fat cat has friends that do not want any nation to go and take him out. I guess that these nations like Iran, Russia and China are willing to let people get murdered just because they are getting what ever they need at a good price.  Or perhaps what they need from this nation they can’t get anywhere else. It's not oil. It's got to be ideological or political camaraderie.  But I guess in that part of the world that's what matters, and life is cheap.
